Lisa Tetzner

Lisa Tetzner (born in Zittau on November 10, 1894; died July 2, 1963 in Carona, Switzerland) was a German-born Swiss children's writer known for her work with fairy-tales.[1] In 1924 she married Kurt Held. She later fled from Germany due to Nazism and in 1948 became a Swiss citizen. One of her best known works is The Children From No. 67 series written as a collaboration with her husband.[2] Her life in Switzerland had some difficulties as well as during the war her work received some censorship over fears it was immoderate and could anger Germany.[3] Her "socialist fairy-tales" would become popular in East Germany.[4]
